IEC New York is offering a Fiber Optics Installer training course.
This course will be provided by Marcus T. Williams, a certified ETA International Instructor. ETA International is an accredited, industry-recognized certification association providing individual certifications per the ISO 17024 standard for certification bodies. ETA technical certifications are accredited by the International Certification Accreditation Council (ICAC) and are Industry-approved through alignment to ISO standards.
At the conclusion of this training, you would receive a certificate as a Fiber Optics Installer.
A Fiber Optics Installer has a general understanding of optical fiber installation, connectorization, splicing, and testing; is familiar with optical fiber, connector, and splice performance characteristics described in TIA-568, ITU-t G.671, ITU-T G.652 and Telcordia GR-326. A Fiber Optics Installer can perform connector end-face evaluation as described in TIA/EIA-526-14A, and understands the installation requirements described in articles 250 and 770 of the National Electric Code. A Fiber Optics Installer is proficient at the installation of connectors on various types of fiber optic cables using multiple types of connectors and can perform mechanical and fusion splicing.
This training is a 40-hour course and is being offered with the following schedule:
Saturday, November 7th from 8am-4pm
Saturday, November 14th from 8am-4pm
Saturday, November 21st from 8am-4pm
Saturday, November 28th from 8am-4pm
Saturday, December 5th from 8am-4pm
You are REQUIRED to attend all above listed sessions to successfully complete the training course and receive your certificate on completion.
Participants will take this course virtually, using ZOOM.
All books, lab tool kits, materials, and study guides will be shipped directly to you.
